Silver Spoon is a shonen manga written and illustrated by Hiromu Arakawa, author of Fullmetal Alchemist. The animated series debuted July 11, 2013, in Japan & France (Wakanim). Season 2 is scheduled for January 2014 in Japan.
The story takes us into the life of Yugo Hachiken wishing to detach from his family. That's when he tried his luck in a school of agriculture that requires live in their dorm.
Yugo Hachiken, city emerging from a reputed college, is found in the agricultural college Ohezo right in Hokkaido. His goal is to be first in his class. Not so easy when the materials offered do not stop math or English. Indeed, the course proves very intense and specialized in agricultural areas, things Yugo absolutely not known.
This series shows the sectors of agriculture with lots of humor and lightness.

Yugo Hachiken
He is a first-year student of Yezo Agricultural High School within the Department of Dairy Science. Through his own feelings about raising livestock and working on projects like a campus brick-oven pizza party, making bacon, and organizing various events, he became a popular student amongst his peers as someone to refer to for tutoring, knowledge, and helping others in their time of need (champion for underdogs).
Aki Mikage
She is a kind non-intellectual type; she has a dense nature about sensing the the feelings of people, poor performance in academics (literature, history, math, etc), but shows great focus and aptitude in horseback riding and horse-related subjects; she's deeply in love with horses.
Ichiro Komaba
One of Yugo's close friends and a skilled baseball player who dreams of becoming a professional and make use of the money earned on the league to improve his family's dairy farm. He is also Aki's childhood friend and neighbor, and their closeness is a constant source of jealousy for Yugo.
Shinnosuke Aikawa
His goal is to become a veterinarian however, he first has to overcome his tendency to faint at the sight of blood, and his dilemma with the practice of euthanasia on animals.
Tamako Inada
She is a self-admitted lover of money and can't get enough of managing it; she intends to take over her family farm and said to oust her own parents out of the operation to further develop their family business on a grander scale.
Keiji Tokiwa
He is a close friend of Yugo who has a talent to put himself in trouble due to his difficulty to study and his habit to jump too quickly into conclusions, much to his friends' chagrin. His family owns a chicken farm.
Ayame Minamikujo
She is an aristocratic girl to a vast agriculture fortune and childhood rival to Aki Mikage and most recently to Yugo Hachiken; she's a recent entry to Yezo High's Department of Dairy Science after Ichiro Komaba's departure.
