Yowamushi Pedal-Weakling Pedal

Yowamushi Pedal is a series of manga written and illustrated by Japanese Wataru Watanabe. The television series premiered on October 7, 2013. The episodes of the series are broadcast simultaneously with subtitles in English, Spanish and Portuguese by Crunchyroll under the name of "Yowapeda" for the people of the United States, Canada, the Caribbean, South Africa, Central America and South America.
The first season of the anime explains how Onoda Sakamichi engage in the sport of bicycle racing and how to participate in the Intercollegiate career during his first year of high school. The first season lasts 38 episodes.Yowamushi Pedal has announced a second season of the series that will start from October 2014.  The second season continues where the first season left and follow Onoda, Naruko and Imazumi and how the trio continues to participate in Interscholastic.



Depending on the number of chapters covered in the first series, the second series will begin with the third day of Interscholastic or starts with them trying to return to the Intercollegiate during his second year in Sohoku.

Sakamichi Onoda is an otaku who has just entered high school and plans to join the club of anime. In high school, Onoda had no friends to speak of anime, video games, Akihabara otaku and stuff, so he hopes to make good friends in the club of anime, but learns that it has been dissolved. In order to restore the club, tries to find other 4 people who want to join.

Since he was a small child, Onoda has mounted its mamachari ("Mommy Bike" in the anime) - a bulky bicycle with a frame Fats mainly used for short trips, to go for walks, to pick up groceries or to go to Akihabara each week to review or otaku buy things. His fellow freshman, Shunsuke Imaizumi, a cyclist, go to Onoda climbing a steep road with mamachari.

Shokichi Naruko visit Akihabara to get some plastic models of Gundam for their younger siblings when suddenly he finds Onoda, who drew the attention of Naruko due to the ability of Onoda with mamachari , and later learns that both will the same school. After this, Naruko Onoda tries to convince to join the club of cycling.

Sakamichi Onoda
He is introduced as a nonathletic otaku joining Sohoku High School. He is quite shy and has a hard time speaking up for himself, but ever since meeting Imaizumi, Naruko, and the rest of the Sohoku cyclists, his courage has been growing and he has stepped into the world of bicycles. He is still easily flustered, but he has also developed a fierce determination that helps him do what others think is impossible.


Shunsuke Imaizumi
He is introduced in Ride 1 when the car he is being driven in accidentally bumps into Onoda Sakamichi on the way to their first day at school. Imaizumi generally behaves quite seriously, though he gets worked up when angry or finds himself at a loss.


Shoukichi Naruko
His first appearance involves him searching around Akihabara for a place to buy gunpla for his younger brothers. As a sprinter, he has a competitive nature, and easily gets upset or disappointed when he is beaten in a race.


Yuusuke Makishima
He is a student at Sohoku High School and a member of the school's cycling club. He was and still is often seen as creepy due to his facial expressions, strange hair color, and irregular dancing style. He has admitted to being bad at socializing, and he often comes across as uncaring or harsh as a result, such as when he told Naruko and Onoda to leave Tadokoro behind.


Junta Teshima
He is very smart and uses strategies to win races along with his close friend Aoyagi. He and Aoyagi decided to work together since they are both "average cyclists" who share the same dream of reaching the top.


Hajime Aoyagi
He is usually silent and only speaks when necessary. Even if he rarely speaks, he thinks a lot and cares a great deal about his friends and teammates. He is particularly close to Teshima, but he is shown to be friendly with all the Sohoku members in his third year.


Hayato Shinkai
Shinkai generally has a very laid-back and placid personality. He shown to be very caring; when he ran over a rabbit with his bike, he deeply regretted his actions and decided to raise the rabbit's baby, naming it Usakichi.
