Witch Craft Works is a serial manga created by Ryu Mizunagi. An adaptation animated television series produced by studio JC Staff aired between January and March 2014 on Tokyo MX.
The protagonist of the story is the student Takamiya Honoka. As usual he has such class service and brings out the garbage, he sees a part of the school building falls down on him. He is, however, protected by his classmate, the seemingly emotionless Ayaka Kagari, in a witches dress.
Ordinary student, Takamiya is sitting in class next to a student's most popular high school, Kagari Ayaka, which earned him to have regular jealousy fan club of the latter. While it is cleanup, Takamiya finds himself suddenly attacked by an army of mechanical rabbits and is narrowly saved by his classmate turning out to be a witch fire. Thinking of a bad dream, he will eventually realize that it is the target of other witches desperate to eliminate it and learn from the mouth of Kagari that it has devoted his life to protect whatever arrives.
Witch Craft Works Characters:
Honoka Takamiya
He is shown to be a solitary guy who always prefers to be left alone and is sometimes antisocial. In classes, he is seen sitting next to 'Princess of the school' Ayaka Kagari. He considers himself an average student with no real talents or special abilities.
Ayaka Kagari
She is the Princess of Tougetsu Academy, a title given to who is considered the best student in the school. The Princess is an extremely powerful Fire Witch and her power is only second to her mother and chairwoman of the school Kazane. As the princess, she has her own fan club and personal defense team comprised of her fans.
Kasumi Takamiya
She is the daughter of Komachi Takamiya and sister of Honoka Takamiya. She is a Workshop Witches. She is studying in Tougetsu Academy's girls middle school branch.
Kazane Kagari
She has a very domineering personality, often being the first to criticize and does not tolerate incompetence or annoyance. However, she and her daughter seem to share lethal hair trigger tempers, and when angered Kazane is terrifying to behold.
Touko Hio
She is a very energetic, polite, and caring girl. Unlike many others who were jealous or spiteful towards Honoka due to his relationship with Ayaka, Touko was very supportive and considerate. She is very fond of Ayaka despite Ayaka's cold attitude towards her.
Rinon Otometachibana
Most of the time, her behavior is of a "toughie": mean, belligerent, and uncaring about the welfare of the school.
Atori Kuramine
Loyal, and courageous, Atori is one of the more competent of her peers. However, according to Natsume Mikage, she is extremely shy. Thus, she actually speaks through a special doll she carries around (very likely a familiar).
Tanpopo Kuraishi
She has an incendiary temper; going from mild amusement to extreme rage in seconds (especially when beaten by a better witch).
Kanna Utsugi
Despite her constant angry appearance, Kanna has normal emotions, and eventually might understand Honoka's feelings about "that white-colored thing." But so far, she does not have a clear understanding of the Tower Witch politics, dealing with Evermillion.
Rin Kazari
She is excesively quiet and shy, even amongst her comrades. On the rare occasions that she does speak, she is only capable of working out a few broken words.
Kotetsu Katsura
While not as reserved as Rin Kasari, Kotetsu Katsura is fairly quiet and sedate. She tends to follow the lead of the unofficial leader of the KMM Gang, Kuraishi Tanpopo.
Mei Menowa
She is noticeably the most intimidating of her comrades, expressing (over) confidence, even in the face of danger (such as Ayaka Kagari). As seen from her willingness to hold hostages and sacrifice them if her demands aren't met, Mei can be described as ruthless to say the least and thoroughly enjoys it. However, she does reveal a feminine side at times, acting jealous when Ayaka frequently holds Takamiya, wishing Ayaka would hold her "just once."
