Riddle no Akuma is a manga written by Yun Kōga and illustrated by Minakata Sunao. The anime has been licensed by FUNimation in America North and by Madman Entertainment in Australia.
The story unfolds in Myojo Academy, a private boarding school for girls only. Every normal serious in that institution, if not for all the students of class 10th grade aka black group are actually disguised murderers whose goal taking life of Ichinose Haru.
Tokaku Azuma is a newly transferred student who is also a trained assassin in order to "eliminate Ichinose Haru" who has an innocent look but an unknown past, Tokaku slowly begins to have feelings for his "prey" and decides to protect her the other 11 remaining murderers.

Tokaku Azuma
She is a student of the Black Class, registered in a competition to try to kill Haru Ichinose, with the reward to be anything one could wish for. She is a distant and cold girl, who dislikes when people comes too close to her and she especially hates it when people call her by her first name, with the exception of Haru. However, she eventually grows to care for Haru over time.
Mahiru "Shinya" Banba
She is a former student of the Black Class who was in a competition with the other students of that class who were trying to kill Haru Ichinose where the reward is anything what that assassin may want. However, she didn't want/need anything as a reward, because Mahiru wanted to turn Haru's phone strap into a "relic", which required killing her.
Nio Hashiri
She was a former student of the Black Class who was in participating with the other students of that class who were trying to kill Haru Ichinose where the reward is anything what that assassin may want.
Haru Ichinose
She is the deuteragonist of the series and is also a former student of the Black Class, and served as the target for the 12 (11, excluding Tokaku Azuma) other assassins.
Isuke Inukai
She is a former student of the Black Class who was in a competition with the other students of that class who were trying to kill Haru Ichinose where the reward is anything what that assassin may want. As a reward, she wanted money that would be used to build a house for her parents either in the Caribbean or the Alps.
Haruki Sagae
She is a former student of the Black Class who was in a competition with the other students of that class who were trying to kill Haru Ichinose where the reward is anything what that assassin may want. Her reason for joining the Black Class was because she has a lot of siblings and her mother is sick and she wanted her her reward to be her family fed for the rest of their lives, even if she lost.
Otoya Takechi
She is a former student of the Black Class who was in a competition with the other students of that class who were trying to kill Haru Ichinose where the reward is anything what that assassin may want. However, she was transfered out of the school for her failed assassination attempt on Haru Ichinose.
Hitsugi Kirigaya
She is a former student of the Black Class who was in a competition with the other students of that class who were trying to kill Haru Ichinose where the reward is anything what that assassin may want. Her wish was to leave together with Chitaru after all this was done.
Chitaru Namatame
She is a former student of the Black Class who was in a competition with the other students of that class who were trying to kill Haru Ichinose where the reward is anything what that assassin may want. She and Hitsugi were thought to have died during the Romeo & Juliet play but it is later shown that she is still alive.
Suzu Shutou
She is a former student and the second class representative after Kouko Kaminaga of the Black Class who was in a competition with the other students of that class who are trying to kill Haru Ichinose where the reward is anything what that assassin may want. As a reward, she wanted to age normally and eventually die because her body is affected by Highlander's syndrome, which prevents a person from physically aging.
Sumireko Hanabusa
She is a former student of the Black Class who was in a competition with the other students of that class who were trying to kill Haru Ichinose where the reward is anything what that assassin may want. As a reward, she simply wanted to kill Haru and prove that she was the strongest queen.
Kouko Kaminaga
She is a former student of the Black Class who was in a competition with the other students of that class who were trying to kill Haru Ichinose where the reward is anything what that assassin may want. The reward she wanted was to quit assassination.
Shiena Kenmochi
She is a former student of the Black Class who was in a competition with the other students of that class who were trying to kill Haru Ichinose, where the reward is anything what that assassin may want. She wanted her reward to be decided by the members of a group she is in, called Collective Dismissal.
