The anime series is about a dog god named Yoko and her master Keita Kawahira which fight annoying ghosts. Besides Yoko play other Inukami an important role, most of them on the side of Kaoru Kawahira.
The Inukami (literally the dog) are benevolent creatures that possess spiritual powers. They are a type of demons with the appearance of a dog which may take the human form. Along with a partner, called Inukami tamer, the Inukami have the task of maintaining justice against the evil demons. There are also clan of Inukami tamers.
The story revolves around Keita clan Kawahira, considered a failure by his own clan because of his character. Keita initially looking for a relationship with an Inukami, but eventually a beautiful Inukami named Yoko decides to become his Inukami, making happy Keita. However, his joy is short-lived when he discovers that she is very problematic and uncontrollable. Since then, Keita's life will be filled with endless embarrassment.

Yoko
She has two abilities: The Jaen, which enables it to have a firestorm appear out of her fingers, and the Shukuchi, an ability that allows her to teleport objects. She has no fear to fight against evil spirits, but very afraid of dogs.
Keita Kawahira
He is regarded by his family as a failure and the battles against evil spirits, he finds a part time job. His strengths lie especially in his athletic ability. Furthermore, he can by carved figures frog the size of an eraser start strong attacks by exploding it makes them.
Nadeshiko
She is a quiet and subservient Inukami perfectly meets Nadeshiko Japanese myth, the assumed name of the perfect wife. Totally hates fighting, which has caused the rest of the group inukamis reject.
Tomohane
She's innocent and cheerful, always going with her pet Maro-chan, a mujina . It was the first Inukami of Kaoru in befriending Keita.
Sendan
She is a leader who organizes and directs the group inukamis Kaoru. She is serious and strict and dress style Victorian .
Igusa
She is a shy and self-conscious to who loves anime and manga, and even draw dojins. She has a talent for getting money via internet bidding on bag.
Tayune
Always show her tough side to the other and hides his feminine side. Dress with sportswear.
