Infinite Stratos (IS)

One day in the Future, a fresh exoskeleton called the Infinite Stratos (IS) structure was advanced in Japan and rapidly showed exactly in what way absolutely it might seize out sort of traditional armed guns. The weapon was shortly taken by adoption by several nations — only women could pilot it. This changed the communal construction to supporting females over males, until every man Ichika Orimura suits the first male to activate an IS and is afterward thrust into a new life as a fresh student at the respected — and previously all-female — Infinite Stratos Academy.

Ichika's high school life is about to get very entertaining. However, his school life is filled with many fences and interesting characters. His Tsundere childhood friend Houki Shinonono is one of his classmates, but her sister Tabane is reliable for building the I.S. and Houki dislikes her for it. English Upper Class Twit Cecilia Alcott hates feeble men and has trouble finding a decent guy. Chinese Genki Girl Huang Lingyin is Ichika's second childhood friend and a Pettanko.

Infinite Stratos Characters:

Ichika Orimura
He is the first ever male able to pilot an Infinite Stratos. During his duel with Cecilia, he gets caught by missiles after destroying her drones. After the resulting Smoke Shield clears, it turns out he survived due to his IS upgrading and optimizing itself at the last second. Right then, Cecilia realizes that Ichika had been holding her off with his IS's default settings.

Houki Shinonono
She is Ichika's childhood friend ever since they're little kids. Due to an extreme coincidence, they also end up sharing a dorm room, though Ichika doesn't see any harm in this. Later, Charles Dunois gets paired up with him, but Houki still keeps close contact with her old friend.

Cecilia Alcott
She is official representative of the United Kingdom for the IS Academy. Although tension initially sparked between her and Ichika due to the latter's lack of knowledge about her impressive history, she warms up to him after he almost defeats her in a duel.

Lingyin "Rin" Huang
She is a Representative of China for the IS Academy and Class 1-2 Representative. She and Ichika were friends since grade school, some time after Houki left. They have fond memories of eating together in her family's restaurant, though it seems that Ichika doesn't remember things quite the same way Rin does.

Charles/Charlotte Dunois
He/she is Representative from France and the only other male in the world that can pilot an IS... Or is he?

Laura Bodewig
She is a German representative and a former member of the Schwarzer Hase. Chifuyu used to train her during the former's time in Germany, and despises Ichika for being too weak and causing Chifuyu's early retirement.

Chifuyu Orimura
She is Ichika's sister and herself a retired IS ace, as well as head teacher of IS Academy's Class 1-1, where Ichika, Houki, Cecilia, Charles and Laura are placed. She gained popularity for her skills, with which she won the 1st Mondo Grosso Tournament, only to disappear after forefeiting her title defense at the 2nd Mondo Grosso to save the kidnapped Ichika; during her hiatus she went to Germany to train IS pilots as repayment for the German army's contribution to her rescue of Ichika.

Maya Yamada
She is Sub-teacher of Class 1-1 and herself a former national candidate whose skill never waned even after years on the sidelines.
