Literally meaning "Red Eye Killer" or "Akame Slashes!" is a series of manga written and illustrated by Takahiro Tetsuya Tashiro. The animated series is scheduled for July 2014 in Japan. The series will be produced by Tomoki Kobayashi and illustrated by Makoto Uezu.
The story is centered on Tatsumi, a young villager who travels to the capital to raise funds for his home, but he discovers that there is a high level of corruption in the Capital. He met a group of assassin named Night Raid will recruit to help in their fight against the Empire to fight against corruption.
Tatsumi is a fighter who goes to the capital in search of a way to earn money to help his poor village. After being robbed by a woman and having lost all his money, Tatsumi is supported by a noble aristocrat named Aria. The next night, the manor Aria is attacked by a group of assassins known as the Night Raid.
While Tatsumi tries to defend Aria Assassin Akame, another member of the group end the fight. It reveals Aria removed several villagers and tortured for pleasure. Shocked to discover the villagers, including his two best friends, tortured, killed Tatsumi Aria. After seeing the potential of Tatsumi, the Night Raid invite the boy in their group, and warns that no matter how they kill corrupt, they are murderers. Tatsumi agrees to become stronger and protect his village. In their struggle against the Empire, the Night Raid defend themselves facing an organization known as the Jaegers Esdeath conducted by the most powerful empire fighter.

Akame
She is one of the members of the assassin group known as Night Raid. She is the first member to attack Tatsumi, and comes very close to killing him. Her Teigu, "One Cut Killer: Murasame", is a poisonous katana that can instantly kill the enemy.
Mein
She is often quick to anger, and easily irritated with those she does not know well. Despite this cold exterior, she has shown to be warm and kind to those she has opened up to.
Esdeath
Despite her sadistic actions, she is actually shown to have a compassionate heart when it comes to the lives of her men and others close to her. Esdeath is a high-ranking general of the Empire, and leader of the Jaegers.
Rabac
He is originally the son of a wealthy merchant who upon meeting Najenda falls in love with her and decides to join the Imperial Army.
Braht
He is a former a high-ranking imperial officer known as "100 Man-Slayer Braht". He decided to betray the Empire when his superior, Liver, was framed for not giving in to the Prime Minister's agenda. Braht became disgusted with the Empire that cared more for bribes, than merit regardless of how hard he worked.
Sheele
She usually wore a revealing sleeveless lilac cheongsam with detached lilac arm sleeves and white boots. She usually had her Teigu with her. She wore glasses and had a scar on her right cheek. During her earlier appearances, she wore a hat.
Leone
She is one of the older members of Night Raid. She has a very relaxed and cheerful personality, and tends to display a lack of lady-like manners. She serves as a sort of big sister figure to the younger members in Night Raid, often referring to herself as "onee-san". She does the same with Tatsumi, but it is heavily implied that she has feelings for him, as shown by her "marking" him as her own.
