"Blazblue" is a set of traditional 2D fighting where two characters participate in a duel on a two-dimensional plane. A television anime adaptation of Calamity Trigger titled BlazBlue: Alter Memory has been announced and will air in Fall 2013.
Even before the events of BlazBlue, humanity was brought to the brink of destruction by a creature from the darkness, the "Black Beast." The world was saved by six heroes then, holders of magic. They helped humanity create "Ars Magus", a combination of technology and magic to defeat the "Black Beast."
After the war, an organization called the "Novus Orbis Librarium" (also called the NOL) was created to govern the world. A large wave of protest appeared because of the use of the NOL "Ars Magus" in almost every facet of society, and because of the growing economic gap between those who could use the "Ars Magus" and those who could not. A few years later, these challenges manifested by a civil war in the union of Ikaruga, who rebelled against the NOL. At the end of the war, the NOL swept rebellion and imposed more stringent rules the world, punishing any form of rebellion by the death penalty.
In December AD 2199, several years after the destruction of Ikaruga, several branches of the NOL were completely destroyed by an SS-class rebel named "Ragna the Bloodedge" also known as the "Reaper" whose goal is to destroy the entire NOL. The NOL, hoping to stop him, then began the largest bonus ever offered for his capture. On the other hand, Ragna possesses a powerful "Ars Magus" called the "Azure Grimoire" also known as "Blazblue". Suddenly, the world, whether the NOL, the union of Ikaruga or other fighters continue to be Ragna the bounty on his head, or to scrawl it holds.
BlazBlue Characters:
Ragna the Bloodedge
The main character in Blazblue, which destroyed several branches of the NOL. It was considered as the most wanted criminal and a price is more important than the NOL has ever offered. It is nicknamed "The Reaper". All characters in the game are related to him in various ways.
Jin Kisaragi
Commander of the NOL and is recognized as a hero of the NOL during the war against the union of Ikaruga and he suddenly abandoned his post to start in pursuit of Ragna in the city of Kagutsuchi.
Noel Vermillion
Lieutenant of the NOL and subordinate Major Kisaragi. She was sent to Kagutsuchi to find him and bring him back, by force if necessary.
Rachel Alucard
A vampire. She is head of the Alucard family.
Taokaka
A fighting clan'' Kaka'' and bounty hunter. She left her village to find Ragna to save his village from famine and fights only for food.
Carl Clover
A talented bounty hunter who is always accompanied by a mannequin, Nirvana, he refers to as his sister Ada. Together they came to Kagutsuchi, and looking for Ragna bounty on his head and the Azure Grimoire he holds.
Litichi Faye-Ling
A former scientist oriental city has now become doctor. She was researching Arakune.
Iron Tager
Sector Member Sept. His nicknamed is the "Red Devil". He is a Sector Seven professor who has been mechanically enhanced to perform field-work.
Kokonoe
She is a scientist at Sector Seven, and an important supporting character in the BlazBlue series.
Makoto Nanaya
She is a former classmate of Tsubaki Yayoi, Carl Clover, Noel Vermillion, and Jin Kisaragi from the Military Academy.
Hazama
Tsubaki Yayoi
She is Jin Kisaragi's childhood friend, Noel Vermillion's former roommate from the Military Academy, and a major of the non-official Novus Orbis Librarium's Zero Squadron.
