Literally Ice Cream, is a mystery novel by Honobu Yonezawa. An adaptation anime of 22 episodes produced by Kyoto Animation and directed by Yasuhiro Takemoto aired from April 22 to September 16, 2012.
Hyouka tells the story of Oreki Hotaro and his 3 friends who belong to the club of classical literature. It is a club where Hotaro sister used to belong and therefore invited him to join him as having few members risked dissolving.
However, even though the club is dedicated to classical literature, Hotaro and other club members were dedicated to solve any mystery arising within or outside the school. Hotaro is a lazy guy, who prefers not to do anything, but Chitanda Eru (club membership classical literature) forced him to solve all the puzzles and questions that may arise.
Hyouka Characters:
Hotaro Oreki
Student apathetic and disinterested in everything that joins the club of the literature on the request of the elder sister, for to prevent it from closing due to lack of members. Although he do not like to engage in anything that requires even the slightest effort, if he is forced to think of something, does not stop until it finds a solution.
Eru Chitanda
A strange girl who is also a member of the Classical Literature Club. She is polite and nice, but also simultaneously silly and lively. Eru Chitanda comes from a wealthy farming family.
Satoshi Fukube
He is a classmate of Hotaro entering with him in the classic literature club. He has a very good memory, which he called "database", and can often be seen smiling.
Mayaka Ibara
The fourth member of the Classical literature clubs joined Makaya for Last. She finds Hotaro strange is a good friend and Eru. She also has romantic feelings for Satoshi treated him but always in a frivolous manner, and calls him Fuku-chan.
Fuyumi Irisu
She is an expert at manipulating others, but envies Chitanda for her naivete. She leads her class members in making an independent film for Kan'ya Festival.
