The series chronicles, the adventures of Ciel Phantomhive, a twelve years boy became head of the family of a noble lineage Phantomhive and Sebastian Michaelis, a butler demonic obligated to serve Ciel by the contract Faustian bargain made between the two.
In a mansion on the outskirts of London in Victorian times , the butler Sebastian Michaelis serves Ciel Phantomhive, a 12 years (13 thereafter), who is head of a noble family and a toy company. Sebastian carries out any task required by his master and solves the problems plaguing England with ease and perfection because of his demonic lineage and a contract with Ciel Phantomhive.
Both the series and the contract consists mainly in finding those responsible for the death of the parents of Ciel Phantomhive and take revenge. Once finalized this will be sworn Sebastian Ciel's soul.

Sebastian Michaelis
He is a demon, with the 12 years noble Ciel Phantomhive concluded an agreement to take revenge on all those that have sullied the name of the Phantomhives. Sebastian enters the appearance of a black-haired man with brown (in demonic red status) to eye.
Ciel Phantomhive
Ciel is, despite his tender age of just 12 years, the current head of the Phantomhive family and CEO of the company "Funtom", which mainly deals with the later toy industry, but also with the hospitality industry.
Earl Alois Trancy
He is the head of Trancy family, although it is not known which fulfill these tasks noble family, except that they have a similar binding to the Queen seems to have as Phantomhives. Alois is also not the real son of this family, because his real name is Jim McCain, but he put that name after the death of his brother Luca and obtained with the help of Claude's access to Trancy family.
Elizabeth Ethel Cordelia Middleford
She is the daughter of Marchioness Frances Middleford and is both fiancee and cousin by marriage of Ciel Phantomhive. Elizabeth is often called "Lizzie" for short, and has green eyes, blond hair, and is usually seen in a red dress, or a pink coat. She also tends to wear flat-heeled shoes so as to not appear taller than Ciel when they are together.
Claude Faustus
He is in some ways the second Sebastian, as he assumes the role as a demon of a butler in order to maintain compliance with the contract, the soul of his master. However, he is the complete contrast in character to Sebastian. He rarely pulls a muscle and can, in spite of the agreement, look frequently doubts his loyalty to Alois and seems to take the job of protection perspective, not even half as seriously as Sebastian.
Grell Sutcliff
He is a shinigami who appears to be only slightly awkward in the role of the butler of Madame Red, until he reveals himself to the fight against Sebastian and shows his true form. His favorite color is red and the corresponding Grell has very long red hair, wears glasses and a red jacket later the former Madame Reds.
Countess Rachel Durless-Phantomhive
Rachel, as described by Angelina Durless, was a gentle, kind, and awfully beautiful woman who never puts on airs. She also had a bit of a playful personality, as she once complimented Angelina on her breast size while grabbing them.
Mey-Rin
She is extremely far-sighted, making it an excellent shot, and to aim only their eyes need. Accordingly, it has also previously worked as an assassin, came to Sebastian and offered her a job as a housemaid. She got a pair of glasses from Ciel, with whom she can see better again and she is very grateful to their Lord, and has sworn to protect this together with the property forever.
Bardroy
Bard was formerly a soldier and was hired after a lost battle of Sebastian as a cook. Bard had lost this battle, everyone and everything. It turns out that he simply can not imagine what it's like to live and cook slowly to normal. He appears again and again like a dream, because in war, everything had to happen quickly.
