Air - Anime Visual Novel

Air has been ported to various media. A manga based on the visual novel was published in the Japanese magazine Comptiq by the publisher Kadokawa Shoten, between August 2004 and February 2006 and illustrated by manga artist Yukimaru Katsura.

An anime of thirteen episodes by Kyoto Animation and aired between January and March 2005. A spin off entitled Air in Summer aired between August and September 2005. While the anime was still in transmission, film Air by Toei Animation premiered in theaters Japanese in February of that year.

The young Kunisaki Yukito makes a living traveling from village to village performing a number of magic with a doll given to him by his mother. The woman, before dying, told him to find "the girl in the sky" and save him from his fate. In one of the villages,
Yukito meets Misuzu Kamio, a careless and cheerful girl who has no friends and suffers from stinging when trying to do with it, and convince you to stop at his house.

 Finally, Yukito discovers that the evil winged creature who was looking for is Misuzu: the origin of his illness is addressed through the story of Kanna; a winged creature lived a thousand years before, which Misuzu is the reincarnation.


After finding the crow Sora Misuzu conditions begin to deteriorate, culminating, despite the efforts of Yukito not to make it happen, with his death.


Air Characters:

Yukito Kunisaki
He is a wanderer who travels around the country trying to find "the girl in the sky", a goal that has survived hundreds of years present in every generation of his family. He lives of their trade, a special form of puppets manage without need for wires, which was taught by his mother before she died.

Misuzu Kamio
She is the first of three girls in Air that meets Yukito. She befriends him and invites him to stay at home. Her adoptive mother is Haruko Kamio, although it was really her aunt. His biological mother died when she was still a child, and his father gave it to Haruko . She is cheerful although rather clumsy.

Kano Kirishima
She is a girl who dreams of magic which have never removed a handkerchief from her wrist, as she was told when she was little, if not removed it could master the magic when she was older. She suffered a strange illness.

Minagi Tohno
She is a smart girl but something quiet, is the president and only member of the astronomy club. Take a deep sorrow for her mother's illness, caused by the death of her second daughter, and reaches the point of not recognizing Minagi as her daughter.

Haruko Kamio
She is the adoptive mother and aunt of Misuzu. She loves Misuzu as she would her own daughter, but he tries to distance himself from her because she fears that one day will be taken away.
