Hayate the Combat Butler

A first and second season of anime-game has been previously adapted, and English manga edition is distributed by VIZ media. Hayate Ayasaki is a young man who was forced to work at a young age because their parents are addicted to gambling.

It is one of those games where a debt of 150 billion yen, which end up happening to their child. It is in their attempt to save his own life ending creditors knowing Sanzenin Nagi, a girl daughter of a wealthy family, which offers to pay its debt in exchange for being her butler for 40 years. From now on the young steward will be involved diverse situations to safeguard the integrity of his young mistress.

Hayate the Combat Butler Characters:

Hayate Ayasaki
He is a very selfless and generous person, always trying to help others in need even if it means causing harm to himself. He is very independent and skilled in many things. Besides being a normal butler, he is also an expert "Combat Butler", fighting anyone who tries to harm Nagi.

Nagi Sanzenin
She is a short-tempered, spoiled, anti-social or socially withdrawn, hates to lose and to admit her faults, has a considerably hard time confessing her true feelings towards Hayate or anything in the fact of the matter, she acts immature a large portion of the time but is ultimately a good, educated girl. She is the only heir to the Sanzenin fortune because she is the only survivor of the family besides her grandfather.

Maria
She is highly intelligent, somewhat devious, good at general housework and likes games of all kinds, though she is Katsaridaphobic, meaning she is deathly afraid of cockroaches, which she refers to as "the dark life-form that exists in the kitchen and other places". She is Nagi's maid and maid of the Sanzenin household.

Hinagiku Katsura
She is very capable in everything but suffers from a serious case of acrophobia. She is the current student council president, captain of the kendo club, and an unofficial school idol.

Wataru Tachibana
He owns and lives in a video rental shop, and wholeheartedly believes that if he works untiringly, he will someday be able to surpass the Sanzenin fortune. He lives together with his maid Saki who has been taking care of him for a long time. He is Nagi's fiance but is in love with Isumi, Nagi's best friend. The engagement was set by Enkyou Tachibana, Wataru's grandfather, and current head of the Tachibana family and its assets.

Saki Kijima
She takes a mixture of a servant and elder sister role to Wataru, often changing from being subservient to scolding him depending on the situation. She is Wataru's maid and significantly older than Wataru and lives with him in his video-rental store.

Isumi Saginomiya
She is Nagi's best friend; they met at a party a long time ago. She displays a high level of empathy for Nagi's feelings, yet she does not recognize Wataru's love for her, a fact that Nagi, Maria, and Hayate comment on.

Ayumu Nishizawa
She confessed her feelings to Hayate, but Hayate rejected them after getting a vision of Nagi. However, she is the only girl who has successfully confessed her love to Hayate, which often places her in awkward situations when she is alone with him.

Sakuya Aizawa
She iss very rich and has a similar personality — loud, arrogant, abusive of servants, and unwilling to accept defeat in anything. She is Nagi's cousin and from Kansai.
