A girl with magical powers, and battle against witches, evil creatures born from night time that are reliable for murders and suicides. This anime also runs on conjectures and ideas, allowing the audience to foretell what will happen next, and explain definite spots.

Kyouko Sakura
Her identifying features include long red hair, twin fangs and a greedy appetite, closely never being seen without food. She has been a Puella Magi much longer than the others, and thus is more proficient she wields a spear which can develop itself, split into many sections, and provoke a ball at the end of a chain, which can squeeze and hit others at the same time.
Kyubey
A "Messenger of Magic" who grants the wishes of young girls, but in exchange contracts their services as Puella Magi. Kyubey has an unknown number of bodies; when one is killed, another body appears and devours the destroyed body.
