High school of the Dead is a newly TV series of Madhouse last July 2010 in Japan was adapted from its Manga series written by Daisuke Sato and illustrated by Shoji Sato since September 2006.

High School of the Dead or Academy Apocalypse as its secondary title, is set in the current day, start as the world is reached by a deadly pandemic that turns humans into zombies,


euphemistically concerned to by the main characters as "them". The story goes with Takashi Komuro, a Japanese schoolboy at Fujimi High School, who survived the initial outbreak along with several of his classmates and the school nurse, and sometimes jumps to the point of view of other characters. The plot is initially concerned with survival and escape from the titular high school and zombies, but as the series proceeds with it commences the additional threats of societal breakdown, in the form of threatening fellow survivors and the possible deterioration of the characters own good ethics.
