Here are definitely some tips, helping you easily make the scissor for Make Rozen Maiden Souseiseki cosplay. Now, let’s begin.
Required materials: EVA boards (one black piece that’s 2cm thick and one white piece with common thickness), paper board, pencil, knife, scissor, latex, woodworking glue, golden propylene and silver acrylic paint.
Generally speaking, you need to draw the sketch on the paper board. Cut two pieces from the thick EVA boards according to the drawn pattern and joint them. Decorative patterns on the scissor are made from white EVA board, which will be pasted onto the scissor. Finally, color it.
Follow below steps.
Step 1: find a large paper board and draw the sketch of the scissor on it.
Step 2: put the sketch onto the black EVA board. Draw the outline of the sketch by pencil forcibly. After making sure there are traces at the EVA board, remove the sketch. Then, draw the outline directly on the EVA board once again.
Step 3: cut off the draw pattern from the EVA board. A knife will be used here. Make sure to cut along the outmost outline.
Step 4: after being cut off, hollow places where should be empty. So, it looks like this. To make the scissor feel thick enough, I made two EVA boards and affix them by woodworking glue. In this case, the scissor feels hard and more three-dimensional. It depends on you whether to make it like this.
Step 5: then, let’s make the silver part on the scissor. Likewise, draw the sketch on the paper board.
Step 6: draw the outline of the decorative patterns on the white EVA board too and then cut them off. Since these decorative patterns will be affixed onto both sides of the scissor, you should cut the front and also the back side. It’s easy to draw the outline of the front side. However, while drawing the back side, make sure to turn over the paper board and then draw. Otherwise, you will find two sides are not symmetrical while being affixed.
Step 7: paste these white accessories onto the scissor by woodworking glue.
Step 8: to make sure these accessories have been totally adhesive to the scissor, put some heavy items onto them after finishing pasting.
Step 9: when both sides are affixed with white EVA board, the scissor looks like this. After the glue dries, begin coloring.
Step 10: golden propylene and silver acrylic paint are needed here.
Step 11: the scissor has been finished. It’s a pity because the scissor can’t be opened. However, it has already seemed great for the show. Paper board I used is a little small. If possible, you can use a large paper board. A longer scissor will look better.
