The story is about a boy named Yoichi Karasuma who has spent his entire life in the mountains with his father, which leads him into the path of samurai. The young man of 17, who knows nothing about the city, is forced by his father to stay in a family of four sisters, who runs a dojo parallel to the karasuma, in order to forge his mind in this world which is still unknown.
It is immediately noticed by the people because of his clothes and the old way of speaking. He is disturbed by the landscape, but also by the girls, who had hardly ever seen in his life.
