Total Eclipse is a new project of Muv-Luv Alternative promoted by Tech Gian. Total Eclipse takes place in the same world as Alternative, at Alaska's Yukon base, test site 18, where first class staff from around the world regardless of their country come together to work on new Senjutsukis. The main characters are engineers and pilots.

In the year 2001, aliens called BETA (enemies of the human race) came to invade earth. In 20 years, they have already conquered most of the Eurasian continent, which reduced the world population of billions. In response to this, the human race begins development of tactical weapons (machines).
