This coming 15th to 16th of September 2012 from 10:00AM to 8:00PM, at the Function Rooms 4 & 5, 3rd level of the SMX Convention - Pasay Philippines, will be held the 3rd Best of Anime as part of the 3rd Manila International Book Fair.
Meet and Greet Alodia and Ashley, the Philippines’ Ultimate Cosplay Queens at the Best of Anime Event on September 15 2012!
Happening Highlights include: The Best of Anime Cosplay Competition where cosplayers can dress as their favourite Japanese characters and outwit their opponents while the All-Star Cosplay Competition challenges cosplayers to be in their craftiest costume and strut their stuff on stage; The Battle of the Bands, where talented otaku bands can showcase their love for Japanese music by battling it out with other bands; Artists with quick hands can join the Quickdraw Challenge to see who the finest artist under time pressure is. Photographers can show off their photographic prowess and their talents for capturing a beauty in SuperClicker! For those who are always hungry for some Takoyaki, the event features Takoyaki Eating Contest where participants can chow down on as many Takoyakis as they can hold. A fashion show will also highlight the event to give otaku fashionistas inspiration on how to pull-off certain runway looks into the street.
Con-goers will not only have fun at the event, but they’ll be given the chance to learn different things. Otakus are given the chance to learn a lot of things like: Blogging from Japanese culture blogger, Manetic-Rose in her Blogging Workshop. Learn how to take stunning cosplay and figuart photos in the Cosplay and Figuart Photography 101. Serious cosplayers may opt to take the event’s Cosplay Make-up and Wig Styling Tutorial to level up their styling skills. For those who are always looking for cheap ways to eat Japanese food, why not try cooking them? The Japanese Culinary Workshop will teach participants to cook their favorite Japanese meals. And for those who are always dreaming of going to an animation school, listen to the people from Animation Council of the Philippines, Inc. when they talk about Careers in the Animation Industry.
Visual Kei fans will no longer sulk at that certain bands do not visit the country to do concerts or just to show up. This year, otakus and Japanese music followers should also get ready for Japan’s V-kei band UchuSentai Noiz as they will be making an appearance at the Best of Anime 2012 convention. Get ready for a chance to meet and greet with band and rock with them as they perform on both days after the event.
